The Shepherds Angels On Assignment Outreach
A Local Outreach Program Benefiting Women & Children
Throughout San Jacinto and Surrounding Counties

 

 

Our journey began in 2006 when I felt a calling to donate blankets to the homeless at the Star of Hope Mission in Houston, Texas. It was then that I realized just how many women and children are displaced due to extreme hardships and more specifically, those caused by domestic abuse. The following week, it was placed on my heart to ask my co-workers to match my blanket donation. The outpouring of generosity was wonderfully unexpected! My desire to help others in need grew, and The Shepherds Angels On Assignment Outreach was born.

 

Since then, we have expanded our outreach services to provide families in need with necessary items such as new mattress sets, sheets, pillows, pillowcases, blankets, comforters, towels, and even toiletry items as they begin their new lives. In 2014, we were blessed to partner with a generous company, which provides us with full or queen as well as twin mattress sets, making the transition into a new, safe dwelling feel more like home.

 

As more people in our community learned about The Shepherds Angels On Assignment Outreach efforts, our donations became so abundant that we required a separate storage facility in which to house them. Within this storage space is a backstock of items that can be pulled from year-round, making distribution faster and more efficient than ever before. Our goal is to keep the shelves fully stocked so that these deserving families can begin their new lives in comfort, without worrying about the expense of obtaining such necessities.

 

The Shepherds Angels On Assignment Outreach is currently seeking partners to support us in our continued efforts to ensure these displaced women and children have a comfortable place to lay their heads at night. Without our help, so many end up sleeping on couches or even worse, directly on the floor. We are always accepting donations in the form of new items, gift cards, event sponsorship, and cash gifts that can be used to purchase additional items needed that we may not currently have in stock. 

 

In addition to donations, The Shepherds Angels On Assignment Outreach also hosts periodic special events in which the community is invited and encouraged to participate. These events and donation drives are funded solely by local businesses and individuals who see our efforts as making a difference in so many deserving lives.
